A cooperation protocol was signed between Turkey's leading participation finance institution Kuveyt Türk and Enerjicell, a subsidiary of Turkcell, one of the deep-rooted technology companies of our country, that enables investors to access finance easily and under favorable conditions in solar power plant projects established to increase energy diversity, make energy supply sustainable and contribute to self-consumption. Kuveyt Türk's financing support for renewable energy shall reach 2.5 billion TL by the end of 2022.

Increasing a financing support in the field of renewable energy, Kuveyt Türk continues to sign cooperation protocols with Turkey's leading companies in this direction. Recently, Kuveyt Türk collaborated with Enerjicell, a subsidiary of Turkcell, one of Turkey's deep-rooted technology companies, in the field of Unlicensed Solar Power Plant (Çatı GES).

The cooperation protocol was signed at a ceremony by Kuveyt Türk’s Executive Vice President in charge of SMEs Abdurrahman Delipoyraz and Enerjicell’s General Manager Erkin Kılınç. With the protocol signed to provide financing support to SPP projects, both investors shall be able to access financing more easily and it shall contribute to the energy production of our country in the field of renewable energy. Companies that want to use financing for the installation of SPP shall be directed to Kuveyt Türk by Enerjicell as part of the cooperation. Kuveyt Türk shall also provide financing support under favorable conditions to companies that meet the necessary conditions for SPPs to be established to increase energy diversity, make energy supply sustainable and contribute to self-consumption.

“By the end of 2022, our support for renewable energy will reach 2.5 billion TL”

Kuveyt Türk’s Executive Vice President in charge of SMEs Abdurrahman Delipoyraz said, “We believe that it is very important to use renewable energy sources in order to meet the energy needs of future generations and to reduce the damage to the environment. As Kuveyt Türk, we continue to support companies that want to benefit from solar energy, which stands out among renewable energy sources, with favorable financing conditions. Accordingly, we contributed 400 million TL for 90 Megawatt (MW) energy generation capacity in 2021, and approximately 700 million TL for 75 MW as of the end of March this year, as part of Çatı GES financing. By the end of 2022, we aim to make a fund payment of approximately 2.5 billion TL for a total power generation capacity of 250 MW.”

“With Energycell, we shall be with companies that want to benefit from solar energy”

Stating that the government has facilitated renewable energy investments with the recently changing regulations and increasing incentives, Abdurrahman Delipoyraz said, “Every new investment made in the field of renewable energy increases energy diversity, contributes positively to closing the current account deficit, and ensures the increase and spread of clean energy production. We also try to do our part by providing financial support to companies operating or wishing to operate in the field of green and renewable energy under favorable conditions. We are going to new collaborations to increase this support even more. Our cooperation with Enerjicell, a subsidiary of Turkcell, one of the leading technology companies in our country, will provide significant advantages to our customers who need financing in the field of green and renewable energy, in the process of reaching financing. In addition, the funds collected through the payments as part of the project may also be channeled into sustainable sukuk issuance. Within the project, the fact that it is a system that can be benefited by individual consumers and farmers in the future, as well as commercial and industrial establishments, increases the interest every year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Enerjicell for its work on renewable energy and our cooperation.”

“As Energycell, we prioritize renewable energy sources and increase our investments.”
Expressing his views on the subject at the signing ceremony, Enerjicell General Manager Erkin Kılınç said, "In line with the mission to be a company that not only consumes renewable energy but also produces renewable energy, we purchased the Karadağ RES (Montenegro Wind Power Plant (WPP)) in İzmir last summer. With its current installed capacity of 18 MW, Karadağ RES is at a level to meet the energy needs of approximately 2,500 base stations with an annual energy production of 67.5 million kWh. We anticipate that the renewable energy generation within the group will increase to 87.5 million kWh, with the capacity increase planned for Karadağ RES and the contribution of solar power plants. With the launch of our new investments, as Enerjicell, we will prevent 40 thousand tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year and meet the energy needs of 3 thousand 250 base stations from its own production facilities. In line with our sustainability goals, we are working to bring Turkcell to the point where it meets its energy needs from renewable sources by 2030 and has reached the target of zero carbon emissions by 2050.”

“We offer renewable energy experience to our customers”

Erkin Kılınç, who stated that Enerjicell, with the experience gained thanks to the solar energy projects it has built, is also working to bring this experience to the field and to bring solutions with different financing packages to its customers, and said, " We think that the easiest way to get rid of increasing electricity costs and to reduce our dependence on foreign energy as a country is to turn to renewable production at appropriate consumption points. Among the available resources, the cheapest electricity generation method comes to the forefront as the sun. With our expert consultant partner Stiga Energy Consulting, we provide turnkey services to our customers without any difficulties during the project approval process. Among the available resources, the cheapest electricity generation method comes to the forefront as the sun. Our aim is to provide our customers with access to this cheap and unlimited resource with Turkcell quality and high customer satisfaction. This cooperation with Kuveyt Türk shall make solar energy projects with low return on investment even more accessible. By providing end-to-end project setup and financing, customers will be able to access their solar projects easily. We shall be making a detailed launch on this subject very soon.”
