Türkiye’s leading participation bank, Kuveyt Türk, has been organizing a campaign for the benefit of the Foundation of Hope for Children with Cancer (KAÇUV) in the week of April 23 for the last seven years. Kuveyt Türk has been donating 1 TL for each transaction carried out for a week to the 2nd Family Home Project of KAÇUV on behalf of its customers, amounting to 691,000 TL in total. The donation check was presented to Mr. Selçuk Öncer, the Vice Chairman of KAÇUV, in a ceremony by Mr. Aslan Demir, the Executive Vice President of HR, Strategy and Digital Transformation of Kuveyt Türk. The Bank’s total donation amount in the last seven years has reached 2,805,000 TL.
Actualizing social responsibility projects based on social values with the motto “We are growing with our values”, Kuveyt Türk has been organizing a campaign for the benefit of the Foundation of Hope for Children with Cancer (KAÇUV) in the week of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day since 2013. At the end of the campaign, Kuveyt Türk’s donation on behalf of its customers amounted to 691,000. The Bank’s total donation amount in the last seven years has reached 2,805,000 TL.
Having carried out a campaign called “We are growing with hope that’s raising 1s to millions” for the 2nd Family Home Project of KAÇUV for the last two years, Kuveyt Türk presented the donation check of the 2019 campaign in a ceremony to Selçuk Öncer, the Vice Chairman of KAÇUV.
“1 TLs came together and turned into hope”
In his speech at the ceremony, Aslan Demir, the Executive Vice President in charge of HR, Strategy and Digital Transformation of Kuveyt Türk said “We at Kuveyt Türk consider KAÇUV’s works and the 2nd Family Home Project to be very valuable and we strive to contribute to that project as much as we can. In order to be with the children with cancer and their devoted families, we organize a donation campaign to become hope for the children having cancer treatment every year in the week of April 23, in other words, during the days when our children are the most cheerful. This year, we saved 1 TL per transaction on behalf of our customers for a week with the motto “We are growing with hope that’s raising 1s to millions”. Like in the saying “many a mickle makes a muckle”, those 1s came together and turned into hope. This year we reached a record amount of 691,000 TL. It is also our pleasure to present this donation in the holy month of Ramadan. We aim to continue our support for KAÇUV in order to increase the joy of life and hope for our children with cancer.

Reminding that 3,500 children are diagnosed with cancer every year in Türkiye, the Vice Chairman of KAÇUV, Selçuk Öncer said “Rapid diagnosis and treatment of cancer in childhood is very important, but especially the families living outside Istanbul suffer great difficulties in this process. Thanks to our Family Home Project, we at KAÇUV both provide free accommodation for and meet the basic needs of financially-disadvantaged families who come to Istanbul from outside the city for the treatment of their children. We plan to open the second KAÇUV Family Home this year, first of which we opened in 2012. We would like to thank Kuveyt Türk and its valuable customers for their donations and spiritual support. They have made a great contribution to our children with cancer and their families for the last six years, and still do in the seventh year. We hope that the number and support of institutions like Kuveyt Türk will increase, which preserve our values”.
The Second Family Home will become hope to more families and children!
KAÇUV Family Home of the Foundation of Hope for Children with Cancer, which was opened in 2012 with the support of the Istanbul Governorship, provides accommodation, food, cleaning, social areas, kitchen and partial clothing needs of the financially-disadvantaged families who come to Istanbul for the treatment of their children with cancer. KAÇUV Family Home supports the families during this difficult process by providing psychological support for both the children and their parents. The foundation of the 2nd Family Home of KAÇUV, which will be opened to provide hope for more children and families, was laid in Pendik last year. The home will have 22 rooms that can provide accommodation for 22 families simultaneously. There will be four family rooms on each floor and a large playroom on the top floor, and there will also be a workshop area, classrooms, an IT room and a psychologist room. It is expected that the home will be commissioned in the second half of 2019.
